Trip to Barcelona Spain

If you've been wondering what I've been up to and why I haven't posted anything recently, this is why...
On the 9th of September, my hubby and I jetted off to the beautiful Mediterranean sea. I had been so busy at work that week and the night before our trip I only started packing. I had gone out to shop for some colourful items as my wardrobe was seriously lacking colour, black wasn't going to cut it on a Mediterranean cruise. I tried packing a day and a night outfit for each day of our trip. We were only going to be away for ten days and luckily I had some of Darren's luggage space :-), which I took the liberty of using. Thankfully summer clothing isn't bulky. I had made a check list the week before, so I bought everything I needed, being organised is fantastic thanks to my well organised friends who advised me on what to pack and to make the check list so that I wouldn't forget anything.

Last minute hugs with our two year old daughter and we would be off to experience Spain, France and Italy on the spectacular Royal Caribbean, Liberty of the Seas Cruise Ship.

Darren had one item to pick up at the mall before heading to the airport, so the morning was a bit of a rush.

Phew made it to the airport on time, but between checking in and having our luggage wrapped for protection, I didn't have time to get a magazine. Oh well, I had movies to watch on the plane and great conversations with Darren to get me through the long flight.

Boarded the plane... Yippee we were off.

Finally we arrived in Barcelona! Ola Barcelona!!!!! after the long walk to the boarding gate I think I did all the exercise for the rest of the year!!! Great way to burn off calories though, I needed to look good in my swim suit at the pool on board of the cruise liner.

Geez it's so humid in Barcelona, I'm not complaining though I love warm weather. We explored the beautiful city, a place full of surprises and nuances where each step provided you with a new promise and each glance reveals a mysterious secret. Our tour began with a visit to the Sagrada Familia Church by Gaudi; Main Street. This church was funded on donations and they began building on the 19th of March 1882 on the festival of St. Joseph. It is amazing, the amount of detail, absolutely mind blowing.

The visit to the local food market is a must, looking good in my bikini is immediately forgotten. So many coffee shops and restaurants to choose from, eating true home-made Spanish food overlooking the sea is absolute bliss!

Barcelona is a great city, so much to see, so much food to taste and great shopping. Not to mention the beautiful women, OMG they are so sun kissed, Darren could barely keep his mouth closed.

Well, time to board the ship, we are in awe at its magnificence, a twelve floor cruise liner can only be impressive.

What a journey thus far! A long flight to Barcelona, sight-seeing the great city, boarding the ship, unpacking, having a lovely dinner on the lovely Liberty, we couldn't wait to see what awaited us...
